My name is Steve Stofberg. I help students feel more confident by offering clear explanations while building solid fundamentals.
The best way to learn math is to work problems. Math has a lot of rules and ideas to remember, and the best way to commit them to memory is consistent practice. When we work together, I don’t overload you with extra theory — we focus on what you actually need to solve problems.
When I tutor, I start with the basics and make sure you really understand each step. Your teacher may have to move quickly through a lot of topics. With me, we slow down, discuss concepts, and build up your understanding at a pace that works for you.
I don’t rely on shortcuts or tricks. Instead, I believe a strong, fundamental method for solving problems is better than memorizing answers. Shortcuts might work sometimes, but they often fall apart when a question looks different. If you can use one clear approach to solve many different kinds of problems, you’ll feel much more confident.
